Farewell Sprint Sedans

31st January 2007

Saturday nights meeting at Charlton Raceway will be the final ever meeting for the Sprint Sedans.

This signifies the end of an era, a local club division that has been around many years and has produced many of the quality drivers to come out of Toowoomba, such as sprintcar driver Peter Lack and the current Modified Production drivers of Shane Macdonald, Rodney Pammenter, Shane Langton, Royce Ernst and Dennis Bullpitt, with Robert Trapp coming out of the lower club car divisions.

Current Sprint Sedan drivers such as Nathan Macdonald and Peter Rogers certainly don't lack ability, but they are now short of a drive with their division disappearing.

The loss of the Sprint Sedans signifies a change in the times of how speedway is run, with dropping car numbers and the need for all divisions to fall under a state category. It is sad to see a class lost forever, and it will be a night not to miss at Charlton Raceway as the mighty V8 Sprint Sedans have their farewell.
