Ten juniors fronted up for the season opener at Charlton Raceway on Oct 6.
The first heat was a very sloppy track with some of the new drivers finding it hard to keep up with the pace car. This resulted in an already spread out field when the green flag dropped. James Campbell won the heat from Hayden Byrne and Ryan Jannusch.
The track was more driveable for the second heat and there was plenty of passing action. Felicia Mitchell looked to have a comfortable lead until she was passed on the back straight on the last lap. James Campbell won the heat from Felicia Mitchell and Ashley Volk.
James Campbell and Hayden Byrne started on the front row of the grid and had a drag race to the first corner with James just squeezing in front. Half way through the race there was a restart and a much improved Ryan Jannusch found himself in second place and keeping pace with James. Ryan had a moment coming out of turn four and dropped back in the field. Jesse and Ashley Volk had a great dice in the latter half of the race with James Campbell taking the win, Jesse Volk second and older brother Ashley Volk a close third.
