Introduction to Charlton Juniors

For those of you who are new to the Charlton website we have a junior class for drivers aged 12 - 16. The cars are basically standard with 4 cylinder engines and safety features such as a roll cage and five point safety harnesses. The drivers must wear flame proof overalls, helmets, gloves etc and all cars carry a passenger. Passengers must be at least 16 years of age.

The first race of the season is on the 6th of October. We will endeavour to have at least one practice night before then.
The promoter requires at least 12 cars to race. Trophies will be awarded to the driver and passenger of the first three place getters in the feature race only.
We are maintaining the 4 cylinder, 2 litre rule for this season. At this stage there will be only one division.
A second Junior Driver Development Car #43 is under construction. Bob Dennis from Redline Rollcages kindly donated a roll cage to this worthy cause and thanks go to Neil Whitley from Whitley's Welding Works for welding it together. Dennis ( Ted ) Bullpitt from Toowoomba Steering Service is currently attending to the suspension and I will paint it and wire it up in due course.
