Modified Production

8th May, 2010 - Lismore Speedway - NSW Title

7 Charlton Raceway Modified Production drivers made the journey to Lismore Speedway to contest the NSW Title. The track had received a heavy downpour of rain earlier in the week and even prior to racing it was obvious there were going to be some large holes on the racing surface, especially in turn 3.

The rough track saw lots of casualties for the weekend. Todd Doyle was the eventual winner with Rodney Pammenter following him home in 2nd and Robert Trapp in 3rd. Rodney was lucky to finish, struggling to race with a broken z-bar for the last 9 laps of the race and the officials threatening to make him pull infield. Nathan Macdonald finished in 4th place, giving Toowoomba 3 cars finishing in the top 4. Shane Macdonald, the only other Charlton club driver to finish the feature, came home in 9th place. Kerry Lack qualified for the A-main through the B-main, but ended up sustaining a lot of damage the rear end of his car and couldn't finish. Dennis Bullpitt was sitting in 6th place with only a few laps to go when he got a flat tyre and also had to retire to the infield. Peter Gray was an early casualty of the rough track making heavy contact with the wall in his first heat which saw him out of the event at the start of the night.

It was another strong showing by our local club drivers.
